Captain America
(Anonymous) 2014-07-29 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)Re: Captain America
I have no idea for Bucky. I almost want to say he would not enjoy any modern music and would only want to listen to music from his past.
Re: Captain America
I'm not sure Bucky (one slightly on the mend) would only prefer music from his past. In fact, my guess would be he'd go through a phase where he'd actively avoid things that trigger memories. I either picture him as liking bombastic stuff (possibly with no lyrics) like (faux) game or movie soundtracks, or actually obsessing over thing with do have dark and emotional lyrics, a bit more emo - in a way he'd be going through some sort of second puberty (especially if you meld a bit more with the comic canons, where he was way younger when he "died").
Re: Captain America
See I was thinking of like techno and such for Bucky. BUT, I think I am drawn to that because of The Winter Soldier song. So I automatically associate him with that metallic, screeching sound.
Maybe dubstep for Bucky. Something loud to drown out his thoughts.

Re: Captain America
i can def see steve enjoying classic rock. i think he'd be ambivalent about listening to almost anything, he's not the type to get super judgey over music.
i can't decide if bucky would be super into electronica or absolutely detest it. i instinctively want to go with jazz & electroswing but ymmv. and i think he would be okay with steve's classic rock but actively avoid the autotuned mass produced stuff. i can also see him going for classical.
Re: Captain America
Oh yes to electroswing!

(Anonymous) 2014-07-30 12:52 am (UTC)(link)Of course, that's rather old comics canon (the Stern/Byrne run from the late 70s, with the legendary "Captain America For President" story) so you could equally well argue that his tastes have expanded.
Honestly, I see it like this: he'll happily listen to a lot of contemporary stuff because hey, it's an authentic expression of the artist's muse, and he can dig it on that level. But he doesn't like stuff that he sees as having ugly or hurtful messages, and he doesn't like stuff that feels fake and over-processed. Personally, especially when he's feeling a little down or just nostalgic, his musical comfort food is putting on some of the sounds he grew up with, just like most of us. You might hear some Benny Goodman or Cab Calloway coming out of his room late at night, and it's best to just leave him be, he wants to be alone right now.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-30 01:19 am (UTC)(link)I don't know about Bucky. Maybe jazz that has minimal vocals, but isn't like slow and sober. And a guilty pleasure for 80s hair bands.

Re: Captain America
Plus, it's amusing to think of him catching up on history and pop culture by going through "We Didn't Start the Fire" line by line.
