I eat salt on watermelons, pepper on cantaloupes, and sugar on tomatoes. I don't think it's weird, but I've had enough people comment on it that I acknowledge it must be.

How is putting salt on watermelon weird? The other stuff, yeah, but that one isn't weird.

I don't know. None of it seems weird to me.

Really? I find all three of the things AYRT mentioned weird (not in a critical way, since I don't have to eat them). Admittedly, I hate salt on sweet things, but I'd still never heard of the watermelon thing before.

It's not weird because it's ubiquitous in the South but I find it repulsive. LOL I thought I didn't like watermelon for years because everybody in my family eats it that way.

My mom likes to put salt on cantaloupe.

So do I.

Huh, never tried that one.

It is really good. Brings out the flavor.

I kinda want to put salt on a strawberry...just to see what it would taste like.

You rebel, you.

*Shrug*

I mean I know chocolate with salt is good and caramel with salt is good. Not that much of a leap to try it with strawberries.

I've heard of salt one water melon.

I prefer to have tomato sauces (like pasta sauces) just a little bit sweet and will put some sugar in them. Same with tomato soup too.

I also put a little bit of salt in my lemon tea.
