Why is this a secret? Everyone I know who watches the show thinks her whole look is shit.

Because I thought of it the very first minute her first on set picture was release (http://www.pagetopremiere.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/georgina-haig-as-elsa-in-once-upon-a-time.jpg) and it wasn't all over the fandom then, and then I didn't get around to making the secret until it was, but I still wanted to make the secret because no one else had and I thought it was terrible enough that it was worthy of an official f!s "judgement," so to speak.

I don't get why you made a secret about this? There is literally no one defending any piece of this. It's not even a discussion point.

More importantly, did they make Kristoff a Sami for real this time around?

He's kind of ginger, so... no?

How was Kristoff not a real Sami in the movie (except in that it's a fictional kingdom)?

You're not one of those people who think Sami are not-white, are you?

What's "for real" about this guy? Are you trying to say they hired someone who identifies as Sami?

To be honest, the first thing I noticed wasn't her outfit, it was her creepy, bulging eyes. She looks like she's about to open her mouth impossibly wide and bite that guy's head off at the neck.

So at least part of her looks like Elsa then

It always baffles me how cosplayers who do it for fun usually have vasty superior costumes than people who make costumes as part of their job.

If I were in charge I'd just have a costume design contest and pick a winner, not just throw together something barely passable.

First time seeing this costume... It does look a little cheap.

She still looks 100% better than Park!Elsa.

I'm happy the sheer bits are blue, I've seen so many cosplayers make then white and it drives me nuts. The only thing I'm very ehhh on is the bodice, should look more like it was made from ice

I don't watch the show but just going by this picture, I don't see the problem? The hair looks fine. I mean, how else is a realistic version of Elsa's hair supposed to look? The lady is quite pretty. I admit the dress does look a bit Halloweeny, but it seems to look like the original design. Oh well?

The costume looks like they improvised with whatever they had in hand. I do like the upper details of it, but Jesus. Same with the hair. I want to let lose her braid and remake it.

They are seriously not even trying anymore.

One of the things I still get ironically excited for with OUAT are the costumes. The costume porn is the best I've seen for maybe any show I've ever watched. And the Elsa costume is a giant let down. There are many cosplayers who have done it at least 3 times better, so I feel you OP.
I'm mostly getting tired of being constantly disappointed with OUAT. It was really good for a while though, wasn't it?

No, really, what is wrong with you?

1) Excuse the character for not being done up for the ball in every scene!

2) Her bodice looks fine.

3) It's a TV show, she's a major character, they probably want multiple copies of every piece of that outfit, and making them super-fiddly might be more of a hassle.

To be perfectly honest?

I thought Elsa's entire costume change in Frozen looked hideous. Her hair and her dress were both ridiculously ugly, so I'm not surprised it's ugly in the show.

But apparently I'm alone in this, since everyone thought her sexy-sheer-getup was nice. No thanks.

I just dislike that they pretty much copied the outfits from the movie exactly. It's gimmicky enough that they're on the damn show less than a year after the movie came out, but even in situations where there's been similarities to the Disney outfits (i.e. Belle), there's enough of a difference that it just brings the outfit to mind instead of looking like a cosplayer.
