Bwah?

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
What if somebody's just really into the idea of two straight friends jumping straight into buttsex tho

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I tend to think that people who write this kind of story are mostly in it for the buttsex and not for the plot, anyway. That's true of most shippy fanfic, not just slash.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. Pretty much.

I really love Clueless. That's all I want to say.

Me too. I developed my crush for Paul Rudd back then.

Yeah, I feel this way too, anon. I need to see the progression of attraction before they jump into bed.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh…let people enjoy their PWP.

This would really only bother me if it was a long fic which made an attempt to have a plot.

But just writing sex for the hotness factor is A-OK in my book.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
OP

Should have specified that I meant long fics.

Clueless! I'm not even into that movie, but I love that you used pictures from it ♥

Anywho, you've given me a new conspiracy theory to mull over. Those fic writers you mention are aliens. They're like ESL writers, or those Americans who keep putting Americanisms in things that don't take place in America, except it's not any of those things they're getting wrong, no, it's the human-ness \:O/

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
This is the only secret not loading for me. Weird. (the tiny pic box)

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Secret is two pictures of the girl from Clueless, top picture she's holding a pink pen with a pom pom on it]

Secret says: If you write slash fic like this:

Step 1: Straight friends
Step 2: ????
Step 3: Buttsex

I'm going to assume you are completely CLUELESS about human relationships.

S!B in Cher's own words

You realize that friends do become lovers in real life, right? This is basically all my real life relationships but in the m/f variant.

So, I adore this trope, because of personal reasons.

I understand you might hate the trope - but that doesn't mean you have some amazing insight in human relationships the rest of us don't have - it means it's not true in your experience which is only a limited part of the human experience.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-12 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the OP means they dislike people not showing how they progress from friends to lovers in those stories.

It bugs me too, OP.

Not OP

You....didn't understand the secret, did you? There's a big difference between "friends to lovers" and moving straight from "totes platonic friends, no romantic feelings" to "hey, lets suddenly decide we're in love and have sex and not have any transition or confusing changes in feelings or doubts or feeling weird or nervous about the relationship changing."

I like friends-with-benefits, but yeah, I agree. esp with buttsex that is implied to be romantic.

I can sympathize with the implied lonliness tho

Tbh this can apply to most types of fic that have friends turn into lovers, not just slash 'cause I've sure as hell seen it on both sides.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so with you there, OP. It's just really unrealistic, and the person writing it obviously just wants to shove two hot guys together for the buttsex.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
OP

Yep. Why they don't just stick to PWPs I don't know.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
If they're already friends why does there need to be a long progression to sex? Especially in fanfic. And when is porn ever realistic?

I had to read that twice, but I get it now.

And I'm with you, anon.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
This secret style is amazing. But I don't mind the pwp in fictions. Only if the writer does nothing but straight-to-sex "story", then it's not very talented OR shows that the writer wants to devote themselves on just certain kind of stories. There's nothing bad about that but usually in pwp I can tell whether the writer knows anything about relationships anyway. Or sex for that matter.
I like a good mix.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally agree with this. Can two best friend male characters be you know best friends for once?

(Anonymous) 2014-08-13 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
