As someone who likes shipping fic and a little fluffy romance now and then, I rarely get these either. (They're either sort of bland or easily OOC for the vast majority of my pairings.)

Or the ones like, 'image your icon petting your hair and whispering in your ear that everything will be alright'. My icon is Midnighter, so when I see those I'm like, "Who drugged Midnighter? Get the fuck away from me," and also, "How is he going to react when he sobers up? I like my spine where it is."

My standard icon is a Pokemon sprite modified to look like me, and I'm not into selfcest, so I never really went for "imagine your icon (doing something romantic)".

Since my icon on tumblr is this creature, an aquatic obligate carnivore with poisonous spit, those posts end up with hints of horror that I tend to find hilarious.

lmao, I think those are the only ones I truly like, the ones that make no fucking sense and end up unintentionally funny. I wish more of those showed up on my dash.

I love this particular example. I would not want that creature sitting beside me on a plane. With the glowing eyes and the sharp teeth? Nope.

I've yet to see the icon ones. Feel a bit like I've been missing out as my icon is of a volcano. ;)

They are definitely OOC for my OTP. Part of the reason it bugs me so much, I think.

my icon is a boat, like, a literal sloop. love it when these things are like "imagine your icon dying in your arms and you're both crying" and i can be like "noooooo not my boat, nooo you were so young".
