tbh I wonder at that. I mean, "annihilation of Israel" is in the frigging Hamas charter, which can be found online easily. hth are you supposed to negotiate with an enemy that wants to kill you all? Do you compromise on a 50% annihilation?

i'm fairly certain they took it out of the charter, actually. it's not in the charter anymore. but it used to be.

That's odd, I checked an online translation recently and did see that clause.
Though, even without it, they're not exactly shy about stating it in Arabic-language media... I mean wasn't the spokesperson of the Hamas even caught perpetuating blood libel? That's fucking medieval...

And what's in Likud's party charter? They want the "whole country of Israel," but they don't seem interested in making a deal for it. What does that even mean?

nobody in the Likud has ever publicly stated their intent to genocide, which the Hamas has. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove?
Also, Israel has made deals - for example, a one-sided ceding of land to the Palestinians, where they were given (among others) greenhouses, supplied with electricity, and encouraged to have democratic elections. It's called Gaza.
They elected the Hamas, which uses vast amounts of the money given to the Gazan population in humanitarian aid in order to buy rockets and build tunnels to Israel.
It is impossible to make a deal with an enemy who wants to annihilate you.
Whereas the state of Israel is democratic, and has Muslims and Arabs in all walks of life - doctors, teachers, professors, even judges on the supreme court. And yet Jews cannot safely walk in the streets of PA villages, much less go into Gaza, without being murdered.

I'm pretty sure Moshe Feiglin is a member of Likud? Unless I've missed something in the last couple days?

Israel did that, it's true. Unfortunately, Israel has also proven that it's unable to hold to those promises. The settlers will always keep encroaching on Palestinian land. The Israeli government has never shown any kind of commitment to stopping them, and until they do, it's impossible to take seriously any Israeli 'deal'.

It is impossible to make a deal with an enemy who wants to annihilate you.

Not everyone in Palestine or the Arab world wants to annihilate Israel. That's fucking ridiculous. A desire for the destruction of Israel is not the fundamental base characteristic of Palestinians or Arabs. Please try to see the world with a little bit of shades of grey.

I will add- the West's mistake is thinking that this is a conflict that can be solved by finger pointing, sitting down, and economic concessions. It's a battle of ideology and identity, and that's not something that can be easily solved.

Meanwhile, most pro-Palestinian rallies devolve into shrieking slogans of hate against Jews and Israel, saying Hitler was right, and calling for a genocide of the Jewish people. It really makes me wonder how the people who call themselves pro-Palestinian can claim to have the moral high ground.

If that's true - and I don't think it is - then the hard right of Israel and its ideology is just as much to blame as any Palestinian ideology, if not more so.

That's not true but whatever.
