People who insist on displaying the beginnings of their romance on Facebook. Two months ago she was the strong, stalwart wife of a combat veteran. At the beginning of this month she's suddenly #Iamwomanhearmeroar, and forty other stupid ass hashtags that announced her split from hubby without actually saying it. Then a FB announcement that she's single and hooking up with an old crush, and now the last week it's been "I love you, babes", "no, I love you MORE babes", "no, I love you to the deepest oceans, you saved me and made me believe in LURVE again", until I want to drive the 50 miles to her house, knock on her door and projectile vomit all over her carpet when she opens it.

Good GOD, there's nothing wrong with falling in love (she been doing it since grade school after all) but doing it on FB?? SO TACKY.

Well, chances are that new romance will probably crash and burn too.

IMO people who have to shout it from the rooftops are trying to convince themselves more than others. (Not saying you can't shout it from the rooftops, but if it's part of the pattern of many short romances, then it's not a good thing.)

I feel bad for the people who wind up dating people like that. I'm sometimes a little jealous of how some people never seem to be without an SO despite never having any very long-term relationships - they can jump from one partner to the other with barely any pause, whereas it takes me far longer to scare up a date even when I try. Then I remind myself that those people probably aren't very discerning about who they date and aren't really all that into any of them, anyway - they're just into the idea of having someone to date and they just grab the first available person (and then try to hold on only until they can find a replacement), so of course it's all going to crash and burn. Hence why I feel bad for the people they rope in, since they may have been genuinely interested (before they really got to know the person) but there was never much hope of success.

And meanwhile, the rest of us have to hear about how THIS time it's totally the deepest true love ever felt by mere mortals.
