I feel you, OP. I like Cumberbatch, but not to the ear-piercing shrieky extent that some of his more extreme fans do, and I'm not obsessed with seeing him in ALL THE ROLES. Whenever he turns up in a fandom now, he brings the ravening Cumberbitch horde with him. *sigh*

Yeah, his fans seem to have a habit of going into spaces where he's barely relevant and taking over like a weed. I feel you. One day his reign will end, though.

Also, has he ever grown a goatee? Because this picture makes me feel like he should.

God I remember the crap we had to deal with when he was cast as "Khan" in Star Trek Into Darkness. Nothing against the man, but I was REALLY not happy with his selection for that particular role. John Harrison? Fine. Khan? No. He did well (at least…as well as he possibly could given the absolute shit script) but I just didn't want him there…

Christ could some of his fans get defensive though. It was a mess. I pray to God that he's not going to pop up again. Once was enough.

Khan was a horrible idea, I don't know what J. J. Abrams was thinking. Well, I guess I do, since he wanted to 'remix' the past movies, but it was so unnecessary. John Harrison would've worked just as well as an original villain, and that was the role that actually had me sitting up and going, "Wow, he's really good."

I understand not wanting him there. He's been really busy so maybe he'll take a breather for a while and focus on Sherlock.

I agree with you, OP. And it isn't even like his face is in the Hobbit movies. Only his voice. Now, I really love his Smaug voice and even more so his Sauron/Necromancer voice. But when you get random Cumberbatch gif sets in the hobbit tags and people talking as if you actually see his face in the movie, it gets annoying.

I thought he was already there given his roles in hobbit... Um sure I've seen cross overs and human smaugs at least...?

You made him look like Leonardo Dicaprio's current face form. Suddenly I am attracted to the potential of Cumberface.

He voices Smaug (yes, the dragon) in The ~~Abomination of~~ Desolation of Smaug.

So, basically, the last two chapters of The Hobbit, stretched out over an excruciating three hours.

Not really the last two chapters, is it? Last two chapters is surely the Battle of Five Armies.

TBH I don't see him much anymore (I only follow a couple folks on tumblr who are into BBC Sherlock and Cumberbatch and they aren't obsessive) but I get how this can happen; it's happened to me with Hiddles multiple times. Lovely guy, great actor, but sometimes I just don't want to look at his face. It's too bad.

Oh, and I'm actually really digging that facial fair on him. Yum.

Oh man THIS. I honestly wouldn't mind the actor if his fan girls weren't so fucking nuts.

I have a friend who hates him, but is a huge Sherlock, Tolkien, Star Trek and Richard III/Shakespeare fan. It used to be funny but once the Richard III new hit I started feeling really sad for her...

I don't have much to say here except I really like what you've done with his eyebrows. That's a good look for him.

I am monumentally tired of human!Smaug and Sauron pictures that look like him.

I want Jackson to do that Mountains of Madness movie with Del Toro and have them cast Cumberbatch as a Shoggoth. The crossover fic with Sherlock would be glorious.
