all this to say, the roommate needs to do something different. You waking her up is not acceptable. Her alarm going off interminably is not acceptable.

Yes!
Once we lived next door to some people who would just let their alarm go off for hours and we could hear it in our bedroom, and I wanted to kill them. I decided when we left that apartment complex I would never ever live in an apartment again because of the thin walls and lack of privacy.

I wanted to kill them, and i cannot imagine doing that with a toddler, since they would inevitably wake up, too. So frustrating!
