I am also deaf, and highly recommend the bedshaker alarm. Some models also come with the ability to hook up to a bedside lamp and/or a landline phone. So, if the mattress shaking off the boxspring doesn't wake you, the annoying flashing light will. (Esp. at 6am when it's still dark enough that will bolt you awake.) And/or you can set an alarm on YOUR phone to send your roomie a phone call at such and such a time (triggering the phone, which triggers the bedshaker), as you sleep in peace.
