Re: So, do you ship it? (TW: [W]Incest)

That's not what I get from the secret tho

They're not saying "I must ship something and whelp, Wincest is the only thing there." They're saying that they think they'd enjoy the show but they know that they would inevitably wind up shipping Wincest. It's an important difference, I think.

Oh...Huh. But that makes even less sense. Why would you actively prevent yourself from shipping something if the ship appeals to you? That just seems masochistic to me.

Because they think incest is wrong, presumably.

But...but...if they really thought incest was wrong even in fanfic, why would they ship it in the first place? Wouldn't that hit their squick button and make them not ship it? And if it doesn't hit their squick button, it obviously means they don't find it so wrong -- in fanfic, at least. Really weird logic.

Because the pull of so much hot manflesh would inevitably wear down their resistance and they'd give in to it.

I don't know. It makes perfect sense to me.

But then why would they care that it's incest? Is it like "I'm not gonna ever try heroin because I just know I'm going to get addicted" or something?

Yes exactly, exactly like that. Obviously on an entirely different level from heroin, but that's the thought process - that thought process of temptation and almost addiction.
