I agree with this! I like the pairing if the author develops the relationship. A random "lol let's fuck and then snuggle" would be strange, but if you develop it, it can be awesome. I'd like a fic where they finally come to terms with how similar they are and connect through that instead of butting heads or something.

The problem is, every single Fenders fic I've read, even the "good" ones, have to force them to behave in OOC ways in order to get to the point where they can "connect". There's just no way to make them consistent with their canon selves and not have it be a horrible fucking nightmare of abusiveness, and there's no way to make it "work" without fundamentally altering their personalities.

Yeahhhhh. I mean, there was this one fic, Scions of Seheron or whatever that was decent enough to get me to consider it, but then the person writing it vanished into thin air and left it unfinished on a HORRIFIC cliffhanger. I will never forget my screech of dismay when I reached the end and realized the fic hadn't been touched in years.
