This is a little typical, but I don't find it that bad really. I mean the other day I saw someone say The Prince of Egypt was whitewashed.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

...huh? what was even their reasoning? like, were the characters just not dark enough for them or something?

Well yeah I mean, the slaves are in the sun all day right?

^I didn't make that up.

Are you sure they were talking about race? Maybe they meant "whitewashed" as in "the adaptation sanitized a lot of the original story to make it more family friendly"?

Let me hope.

They were 1000% talking about race. They said the people in the movie just weren't dark enough.

There is no hope.

I came across a few Americans who have been brainwashed into thinking that all Egyptians were black.
Including Cleopatra.
Who was Greek, as anybody with half an interest in history knows.

I figure that if most characters on the paintings on the walls of Egyptian are fair-skinned and black people are clearly darker-skinned on said painting, it's totes because The White Man has whitewashed history, you know...

Maybe they were talking about the voice actors? Val Kilmer, Michelle Pfiffer, Sir Patrick Stewart, Ralph Fines, Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Jeff Goldblum...

I mean, that's the only reasoning I can think of.

Did they maybe mean Gods of Egypt instead? That's made waves for... well. I think it can be summed up in one picture?

I'm almost positive that they were referring to the new Exodus movie where all the Egyptians are being played by white actors.

Boohoo? I still found it going through the Prince of Egypt tag. And one other saying the same thing but I didn't feel like looking it.
