I honestly don't get this. People ship what they want and dislike what they want. But "wrong" is only something I'd use for things like incest, teacher/student, or death eater/muggle born shipping. Things which I may or may not actually ship but have some aspect that would be wrong in the real world. I mean, I really don't like Ron/Hermione at all, but I wouldn't say it is "wrong" to ship it. Or, if you want a non-canon example, I really don't like Remus/Sirius at all and I don't even really get the ship, but I still wouldn't call it "wrong".

I think you're getting too caught up in the semantics. You're talking about morality, but it's nothing more than a feeling of "this is an incorrect opinion, I don't like it". Just a shallow indignation I'm sure many of us have felt in fandom at some point or another.

And I still don't get the idea of feeling like "this is an incorrect opinion" about shipping. Shipping is inherently opinion. I have the things I like, but I honestly couldn't care less what other people ship. And it seems petty and ridiculous to feel like someone else's shipping preferences are wrong.

Yes, I personally don't ship at all so I'm not bothered by the arguments either way. Some people however do ship intensely and get defensive about their ships, and while opinion is always subjective, the ship being so close to their heart makes opposing ones seem "wrong", even if there is nothing truly wrong about it. I'm not saying this is a logical reaction, it's just a thing that happens. People feel differently about different things to different degrees.

I kinda think that was the point of the secret? Like, OP gets that the attitude is silly. That's why it's a secret.
