So... did they come out as a couple or is OP just reading too far into their relationship?

I just googled and found nothing. I assume this would be fairly big news if it did happen. Looks like reading too far.

Nope just pictures of dinner with each others extended family. It could mean anything honestly.

I think it's supposition on the OP's part simply because one *supposedly* happens to be openly gay and the other has never been publicly connected with a woman that they know of, combined with the fact that they are obviously very good friends who happen to enjoy spending time with each other and each other's families.

You know, something best friends would do. Or friends who've grown up together, etc.

But hey, if Armitage *is* gay/bi, well, cool. I really don't see the big deal, personally, over whether he is or isn't. That's his personal life and his business, not ours.

I was wondering. From the looks of the comments so was everyone else.

Apparently in the OP's world it's not possible to hold the position "Not my business until the persons involved decide to let the world know what's going on"?

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I bet ALL the tinhatters say the exact same thing. "Those J2 guys are nuts, but LEE PACE AND RICHARD ARMITAGE ARE TOTALLY FUCKING!"

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Um... You sound as creepily obsessed as those other fans you seem to be worrying about.

I don't know what to say to this...

You seem really invested, and while I don't think shipping a RP couple is terrible, I feel like judging other people who don't think it's real is silly. Not all of us keep up with these people's personal lives, and look for clues to who they may be dating.

Don't get me wrong, if those two are actually together then good for them (I hope they're happy!), but...this sounds like more speculation to me.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I almost skipped this secret due to the tiny text, but came back for the Armitage. He's obviously a very private person, so regardless of who he is or is not dating... I don't know, speculating just feels weird. :(

I want to save this secret so that when someone asks me "What does confirmation bias mean?" I can point at it and say "This."

NO. Shipping a RPF pairing is one thing. Thinking they are real and being creepy about it puts you on the same level as the Supernatural tinhatters.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't thinking shipping a RP couple is the same as suspecting two actors are in a relationship.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, if I were a young-ish, attractive-ish actor dude, I would team up with another young-ish, attractive-ish actor dude and REALLY FUCK WITH PEOPLE'S MINDS and then troll both sides of any resulting RPS debates on the internet.

Not saying that's what's going with any of this, but it would be fun.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if they are together, you're still creepily obsessed and that's still not kosher. Look, if they are, great, it'll probably either come out eventually. But up until that happens, it's purely speculation, and people are right to call you out on it.

And I'm just saying re: the clothes thing, I borrow clothes from my friends all the time. We're not secretly in love. It might be different for them, it might not, but the whole point is that you don't know and yes, you're being one of the tinhatters that you once hated.

After reading this secret I opened a tab to google "Richard Armitage Lee Pace", looked at one stupid article, and then felt disgusted with myself. :D

Lee Pace was gay? Where are the sources? I mean I love Lee Pace and I support him in WHATEVER he does but I've never heard head or tail of him being gay. Though I do hear mention of them being good friends. I do recall Lee Pace telling an interviewer that he wants to keep his private life private and focus on his roles.

I just read somewhere that apparently tumblr people hacked into their private/their family's FB accounts to look for pictures? If that's true, that's really crossing a line.
If they are dating, then good for them and I hope they're happy. I do have worries if they ever decide to go public with their relationship because there are fans who will cross boundaries, I'm sure of it.

If they're a couple, that's awesome.

If they are, or aren't, leave them alone.

Yeah, OP, I'm judging you.

I think you're seeing things that aren't there. Costars can become very good friends and it doesn't have to be more than that. I remember during Moonlight's short run, Alex O'Loughlin had Jason Dohring come to his house in Australia for the holidays and they sure weren't dating. So even if RA and LP have done all of these things with each other's families or w/e, it still doesn't translate to romantically involved.

OP is right though. Some time ago there was an (admittedly rather creepy) post on tumblr goinr round about Richard having his stuff shipped from London to Lee's farm in uspatet NY or something.

Also, Lee was seen at multiple performances of Richard's play now. Plus, them being spotted together in New York and London. If you add all these things up, it just paints a rather distinct picture. I'm pretty sure they're together as well by now.

Well, I think it's true because Bradley James once wore Colin Morgan's hat and they're going to announce their engagement ANY DAY now.

Any day.

I don't know if this is objective enough for you, but I'm not into either of them and have no intention of watching the Hobbit movies. Whether these two in particular are dating or not, you're tinhatting hardcore (moving to a city where someone you know lives means you're in love with them, even if you're an actor moving to NEW YORK lolol, if you're a troll thanks for that one) and that shit is a slippery slope. I don't know any men of any orientation who haven't done most things tinhats consider a dead giveaway, so I'm mystified that things like visiting with other people's families (from foreign lands, even!) or wearing similar clothes are offered as incontrovertible proof of anything either way. Tinhats get trolled and flat-out make shit up constantly, especially with sightings. Confirmation bias is a powerful thing. They also have really strange ideas about how people behave and what things mean. There's a lot of super dated gender essentialism and deep ignorance of their own homophobia, but a lot of times, it's like they've never interacted with humans before, especially men. Even if Pace and Armitage really are gay/bi/a couple/whatever else they could be besides friends, and they eventually decide to confirm that to the public, it doesn't mean you're not being creepy and intrusive about strangers' lives with this stuff. Anderson Cooper had tinhats back around Katrina who had the vaguely-glass-closeted thing going for them but still spent most of their time obsessing over what they believed to be his sex life (inspired by blind items and random datalounge stories as always), which was pretty much a porn movie and often impossible (he can fuck people at bars from war zones overseas, he's amazing). It wasn't enough to know he's gay, he had to be THE Gay and fulfill their personal fantasies for them, because he's not a real person or anything. If you're not being that gross about it, good for you, but you're at least being icky. I hope you take a step back from it at some point and get some clarity.

What wait, they might be a legit couple? I've been out of the Hobbit loop for a while, but this is pretty interesting, though a bit disappointing that neither of them has, to my knowledge, come out.

"Considering how crazy some of their fanbase is"

...from a person obsessing over their relationship to the point where you are studying the seams on their clothes.
