I had to really push myself to get the entire lawn cut in time to grab a shower and go to class tonight and I'm still feeling it. Tomorrow the school festival next door starts and we wanted our property to look nice.

Going out for a late-afternoon walk in a couple minutes, first one in over a week where I haven't either been rained out or busy with something else. And tonight my favorite show comes back. None of which is stopping me from being in one of those "mad at everything for no real reason" moods.

Mine is going meh. Hopefully I can go by our (shitty) county fair and grab a funnel cake tomorrow. Also have to start working on hopefully making out cats and dog get along.

I love 65daysofstatic but that one is a bit too techno-y for me. I love their albums The Fall of Math and One Time For All Time.

Misidentifying a bunch of weedy grasses in weed science class has kind of eroded my confidence in my ability to ID the seeds of about 25 different crops that I need to memorize by 11 tomorrow morning.

I'm exhausted. However, I found out that a case I worked on last summer has finally been decided by the court. And it was a really great decision that said everything we wanted. And the court cited to cases I found for our brief.

When I got home, the fire alarm went off in my apartment though there was no fire. So I had to deal with that for an hour.

Ended up ordering pizza for dinner. I was supposed to do laundry, but I don't have the energy.

I have Thursdays off, so for the most part, I took it easy today. Went for a run, studied some Viking history, wrote a little bit. Am currently enjoying some rum.

And so far, I'm really liking the song you posted.

I broke my Kindle. Moved the furniture in my bedroom around and somehow managed to set a chair on top of it, and now the screen's all fucked up.

But I had delicious beer-simmered italian sausage and penne pasta for dinner tonight. So that's good.

I took advantage of the iphone 6 reveal to go and upgrade to an iphone 5 for about four hundred bucks less than before. But during the process my water bottle punctured while I wasn't looking and basically exploded all over me and I left the store with half of me soaking wet and deeply embarrassed. Good thing I only go there like, once every five years.

Spent the next hours agonizing over a new ringtone. I wanted a version of You Gotta Have a Gimmick from Gypsy because I think it's hysterical, but I couldn't find one and was too lazy to make one. I settled on Marilyn Monroe singing "I Wanna Be Loved by You" after discarding a bunch of other options. I work with the elderly and if your cell goes off too loud it can scare the hell out of them, which again, since they're old, might be more serious than usual.

Just got up, going to hike up to Kurama temple. Supposedly Yoshitsune was trained there by a tengu and it's where Reiki was invented.

College is freaking me out a bit. First two days and got a lot of homework already. I'm making progress, but I haven't started all my classes yet...

I'm just hoping that it'll get less daunting once I fall into the rhythm of things.

started Weight Watchers again this morning, actually. then I went to work, and now I am back - same old, same old. Except I didn't graze on French fries at work. lol

I got the results for my master thesis and they were okay.

I'm having a slightly hard time dealing with my parents' reactions though.

My mom is just thrilled and gave me a cute little present because of it. And I want to like the present and be happy about it, but the thing is I had a really hard time writing my thesis, spiraling into depression, getting all anxious about it, believing myself to be incapable of writing it and so on, so that I took three or four times the time I should have needed to write it (I hadn't officialy given notice to when I would be finish so I didn't fail on that account). I'm embarrassed about all that and just want to forget all the unpleasantness. So whenever I look at the cute present I am reminded of all this and feel guilty for not liking it as much as I should.

My father, on the other hand, won't stop talking about job applications, suggesting things that are way over my head. I just want to find something somewhat related to the field I did my studies in (which is difficult enough) and already have my doubts if I'd be adequate in that and wonder about who on earth would want to hire me (oh hello, lack of self-esteem, long time no see...). And he keeps on talking about these prestigious jobs abroad... :/

We had our good friends over tonight, one of whom is a music professor, so we listened to Radiohead and Mogwai and Weather Report and Autechre and some other bands and talked about Greek philosophy regarding music. Fun times.

Not too shabby, but the weather blows.

I woke up late so I made the french toast I had wanted to make for breakfast for lunch instead. My mom ate a couple and liked them, so I'm happy that I made them today.

I also went shopping, mostly just stuff for the house or for personal care (OMG daily facial cleanser shopping is difficult), but I was unable to find the toy my niece wanted for her birthday. I may have to find it on Amazon.

But I DO NOT like the weather! It's been cloudy all day and there's this mist that comes and goes. It feels like spring/fall weather and I DO NOT LIKE IT! I want it to remain warm! I also keep worrying that if we keep getting rain everything will start flooding.
