Does anyone else have that fandom that they thought you'd keep watching? That you kept watching even when it got really bad. But then at some point you did finally quit?

Mostly asking because I finally realized that I think I've finally quit Bones. I kept watching the last few seasons even though it was bad and the characters I loved were no longer the characters I'd fallen in love with, and things were making me actively angry. And then this summer I finally realized that I haven't actually missed the show. So I'm not going to be watching this season.

I'm not even sure why it has taken me so long. I gave up other shows when they got bad (Supernatural, House). But this one was harder for some reason.

Supernatural. Gave up 2 seasons ago. It just go soooooooo bad. CSI but I don't know why I stopped watching. Just did one day.

I gave SPN up after season 6. And I gave CSI up when Grissom left (and mostly lost interest once it became more about romance than about the crimes). But it never was a struggle with those two shows. I gave them up easily.

tolkien. i don't know why, it just got boring all of a sudden. plus everyone seemed to know more about it than me. also i don't want to picture hobbits having sex. elves? you betcha. dwarves? fuck yeah! orcs? hey, whatever floats your boat. but not hobbits.

There's a reason why he only published two full novels.

Supernatural. Dead to me as of Season 5.

I gave up on Stargate Atlantis kind of early I guess (season 4), but it was surprising when I loved it a lot and watching all of Sg-1 with no problem. SGA started just making me mad in ways Sg-1 never did though.

I can't think of anything else right now, I know I gave up a lot of shows when I started watching more stuff online. If I realize I don't feel like looking up if there are new episodes or not then I'll stop watching. Sometimes it's kind of surprising because normally a show has to actively make me mad to quit because I watch a lot of tv when I'm working on projects.

I ended up watching SGA to the end, but I only liked seasons 1-3. It went off the rails once Weir left. And the sad thing is, Carter is my favorite SG1 character. But she didn't work on SGA, all the SGA plotlines and characters went off the deep end, and it just wasn't any good. Woolsey actually worked okay in season 5, but the general plotlines and the way the SGA characters were excused for everything they did and the morals of some of the storylines was just not good.

SG1 never made me mad either, even though there is a clear loss of quality in seasons 9 and 10. But I never actively got mad the way things in season 4 and 5 of SGA made me.

I still love it but season 4 is definitely the beginning of the end.

I REALLY liked Supernatural during the first 4 seasons, so much that I thought it would be a forever fandom for me, but the seasons after that really started going downhill and I finally gave up after season 7.

Community. I feel like the show is getting more and more disjointed and I didn't finish season 4. Also, I'm having no desire to watch the latest episode of Sailor Moon Crystal even though I was so sure I'd want to watch the whole thing.

I still think season one of Community was going a way better direction, though I seem to be in the minority there. I liked that the pop culture references were more subtle and less insane. I think it definitely needed improvement, but where it went really... wasn't. It became almost sci fi or even along the lines of a sketch comedy with a canon base.

I gave up on Community the second they announced they were bringing Dan Harmon back.

Does getting there count? Doctor Who does nothing for me anymore. Some of it is that I miss when a show with a time traveler actually had time travel, and throwing a dinosaur in the middle of 19th century London doesn't count exactly, but... I don't know. I've re-watched the earlier episodes and I like them, so it's not that I'm done with the whole show, but I just have very little interest in anything. I don't think I really saw much of last season either.

Johnny's Entertainment, SPN, Vampire Diaries.

Supernatural, I thought I'd be able to stick with it no matter how bad it got but turns out I couldn't. Gave up at the beginning of season 8 and from what I hear it's only gotten worse.

I used to really like Bones but I lost touch with it around season 4 and never really felt the urge to get back in, idk why but I stopped caring for some reason.

And Doctor Who, I watched all of 9 and 10's run but after one season of 11's my interest disappeared and I stopped watching.

Bioware. Maybe i'm getting old. Maybe it's three weak releases in a row.

Doctor Who. *sigh* The 7th season finale, man. I just couldn't hack it any more.

Several, most recently SPN.

Criminal Minds, beginning of season 9. So bad :(

I'm not quite there with Once Upon a Time, but I'm so, so close.
The last few episodes of season 3 left such a bad aftertaste that I'm actually on the fence on whether or not I'll even watch season 4.
