Actually, it was Dad that taught me to be polite, and like myself he doesn't give a right damn what people on the internet think. I am very hypocritical about my politeness re:the internet, and that's okay with me.

Please, I don't mean this rudely, but don't preach to me when you're forgiving her for her treatment of her boyfriend.

And you don't have to ask anyone to agree with you to get opinions on the internet. The same thing that allows you to be more rude here makes people more willing to tell you their own opinions. Though frankly, if I had seen you in person and heard you say this I would have responded.

If you didn't want, in one way or another, to open yourself to a conversation upon this, you would not have said anything. That is the way that conversations work. You say something, and leave yourself open for another person to respond, whether you desire their input or not. If you don't care, don't talk.
