This didn't exactly come as a surprise. Just about every single adult in that family/show is some level of criminal, and the mom wasn't that interested in her kids welfare. Maybe all that butter in her sketti finally clogged her brains permanently.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Who wouldn't be disappointed? I feel bad for her kids and hope she isn't allowed to keep exposing Alana to that creep.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Me too.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't want to believe it either. It would be awful enough if she was dating a child molester who had no ties to her family but the fact that she could be with someone who she knows for a fact molested her own daughter is just disgusting. I mean, I know this kind of shit happens all over the world and it's not exactly new but I just can't understand anyone who would do something like that

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I agree. I think people can change, but getting a second chance with the same people you hurt before is not necessarily something anyone's entitled to. I'd be so hurt if I was her daughter.

I don't watch the show. My relative do and tell me about the show because they are huge fans. And they would always tell me how June was so close to her children and the love in the family. I thought that was sweet.

And then this happened.

Yeah...I am kind of glad I don't watch the show. I would hate to be that disappointed as a fan.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Why would a convicted child molester be out of prison, un-monitored and allowed near children? What are the laws on this? Do they really just serve a few years and then walk free?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
it depends on a lot of factors (such as laws specific to certain states), but registered sex offenders are generally restricted from living too closely to schools and such and many are prohibited from living in the same house as a minor. it's kind of impossible to keep them away from kids in general though, since...well, kids are everywhere. I imagine he's still on probation though, so he's probably monitored to an extent.

the prison sentence also depends on a lot of factors. in extreme cases, the maximum penalty is actually life in prison. and then there are some assholes who can weasel out of it with no jail time at all

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Sex offender registries remain a despicable human rights abuse.

People think they're used for, as you say, keeping convicted child molesters away from children. In practice, they're used to render you functionally homeless for life if you moon a cop.

there's a statute of limitations in some states, where if abuse isn't reported within a certain time frame, the abuser can't be prosecuted for it later.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
well, that's sickening.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Same. I can't wrap my mind around how and why you would do that period, much less with your own kid's molester. I heard the show was cancelled for it, and I can't say I'm against it in those circumstances.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
same here. I don't watch this show, but I feel that they were unfairly judged for many things--they way they look, how they live, their mannerisms and behaviors, imo the whole thing is weirdly classist--and even tho they chose to put themselves out there, looking down one's nose at another person for those reasons is petty. from what I knew they seemed like a nice family who all loved and cared for each other. the reality is a sad shame.

Society will always love a freak show. Reality TV is the 21st century edition.

Don't know anything about the show or the family but I hope this is a lie... That anyone would do such a thing is disgusting. Some people shouldn't have kids.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
If I were Sugar Bear (no idea what his actual name is), I'd be angry as hell.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Dear God, please don't let him hurt any of those girls again. Please God, let June come to her senses and get her children as away from that awful, awful man as humanly possible.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
The fact that child molesters exist is one reason I don't believe in god.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Same. If you believe in God, then surely you believe He was on duty when the oldest daughter was sexually molested. Why do you think He'll intervene now?

If my mom did this I'd never forgive her either.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
People keep saying this and I don't understand it. I mean, I'm not saying I expected this of her, but she clearly comes across as someone who has no problem exploiting her children to get her own 15 minutes of fame.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
There's a difference between exposing someone to the reality tv freakshow life, and actively endangering them.

She might have a good heart but also a stupid heart. Naivety doesn't make good decisions.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-08 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I think she's just as bad as her child's abuser. Forcing her daughter to continually interact with the person her abused her, especially sexually, is deplorable.
