I think it's because they were both followed by a lot of hype and praise? But goddamn, this movie was really lame. There were only just one or two scenes I liked, but that was it. I was so disappointed because the trailer made it look soooo awesome, but it was just another crappy disney movie, idk why I expected something more (like with Wreck-it Ralph).

I hated Frozen, but I'd take it over this one any day.

I was considering watching it since it got very good reviews but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Frozen bashers are so bloody ridiculous. It was a cute, popular kids' movie. It wasn't perfect, but a lot of people loved it. Get over it.

Same thing happened with the Book of Life, and probably other animated movies I can't think of right now. I totally get that Frozen's been overhyped and people are feeling overexposed to it, but the hateboner really needs to die. Why can't we just enjoy the movies we enjoy without pitting them against each other, and ignore the ones we don't care for??

People voicing dissent for Frozen is, sadly, not going to make it disappear, so....

I'm personally bitter that Frozen, a year old now, is getting merchandised and promoted more heavily than Big Hero 6, which just came out. It's probably going to suffer the same merchandise fate that Wreck-It Ralph did and not get a second wave (which made me angry at Brave for the same reason). The princess-oriented properties get all the spotlight, the for-everyone ones get relegated to a small corner and quickly forgotten. That's unfair to the people who worked on those movies and really gets me riled up.

Because discussion of like every animated movie devolves into Frozen bashing lately. BH6 is far from alone in that.

I don't get it either. All my friends who like Book of Life have a huge hate-bonner for Frozen too. The kicker? None of them have actually seen Frozen. Like at all. They refuse to see it, yet still claim that every animated movie under the sun is better then Frozen.
It's kinda fucking stupid.

That's the main point of comparison. That's it. Comparison is inevitable, especially since there is only about a year between them. I remember someone talking about Wreck-It Ralph when Frozen came out.

Big Hero 6 is such a weird adaption. I saw some pages from the real comic, and damn, the rape plot with Honey was disturbing.

Because people need to vent their frustrations on something.

Frozen hasn't really 'gone from' anything. You might be talking about hearing different things from different people at different times? That would be hype and the backlash from said hype. The people who like a movie are going to talk a lot about the movie when it comes out, and the people who aren't as impressed are going to get sick of hearing about the damn thing, so their frustrations will come later.

This isn't something new, how are people still confused about this?
