As much as I love Pinhead, he's tied with the female cenobite for who I find hottest. Something about her voice really does me in.

IA. also that sawblade guy from Cabin in the Woods.

Well, heavens forbid your lust for fictional deformed monsters be anything but 100% politically correct. Otherwise it'd just be weird.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes you take one step back from fandom and realise: wow, this is really fucking weird.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
lmao

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Pinhead has been melting my panties since the first movie. I can't bring myself to watch the remake only because I can't imagine it's half as good.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't worry about this. Fat shaming's not really a thing guys have to deal with so much, so I don't think your personal preference on hottest Cenobite really counts as problematic.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't make as big a deal out of it but it happens.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-17 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Wat.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-17 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Did I stutter?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
If we're talking about fat shaming/phobia in a social justice type way, it definitely affects both genders. It's more obvious for women because sexism means that people feel more entitled to comment on a woman's body and link that to her worth, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt fat men when it happens to them.

I think it might also because you see a lot more positive fat guy role models, even though sometimes it's still bogged down in the same old stereotypical bullshit. Just look at how many leading men in comedy films and sitcoms are fat guys. Even though they often play into the "lol fat ppl r lazy" stereotypes, these guys are generally quite successful and get the girl. Pre 2010's, I can't think of a single fat female character on TV given that kind of exposure since Roseanne.

Telling other people what their experience is: A+ Social Justice! Many Good Person Points! You're not at all a complete asshole!

(Anonymous) 2015-01-02 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Does it even matter? CENOBITES ARE FICTIONAL.

You're allowed to not find fat people sexy. You're not allowed to be an asshole to them on the basis of being fat.

You've got no problem there, OP.

Also, goddamn, Pinhead did so many things to my head. It's really no wonder I'm kinky as hell.

I read that as "het" and was really confused about how being fat with tiny eyes in any way impacted perception of a character's sexuality.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-16 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Fat* social justice stuff is about 1. treating fat people like they are any other human worthy of courtesy and respect and 2. not letting societal pressure about what body types it is 'acceptable' to find attractive stop you from seeing fat people as potential partners, if you happen to be attracted to them.

It is not about forcing yourself to be attracted to fat people or include them in your fantasies when you are just not wired that way. If it happens, it happens. But if it doesn't, don't worry, there are people like me who like bigger people enough to make up the difference.

*Please note that I am using fat as a neutral descriptor in this comment, not a word with negative connotations.

The Chatterer is cool as hell. He's my second-favorite, after Pinhead.

I find it really interesting that there's almost always a Female and a Chatterer in some capacity tagging along with him. Not in a shipping way, really, I'm just curious about their histories. I wish I could find the older Hellraiser comics so I could research all that.

Definitely find the female cenobite the hottest, although I'm a little disappointed that any of them are sexed. I always thought that they were sexless or androgynous or something somewhere in-between. I liked the idea of them transcending physical sex once becoming cenobites.

But of all of them, her ritual disfigurement just looked the most beautiful to me. Very symmetrical and lending her this strange, raspy voice. It was just so, so great.

that thing on the right is hot
