The sex thing is one reason I ship Worf with Jadzia (one of many). I love that in that episode where they finally get together, when they end up in the infirmary he is as injured as she is. She can take it and give it back.

YES.

(But then Jadzia is one of my favorite TV SF characters ever, so ...)

She's my second favorite Trek character after Kira.

Now I need to rewatch DS9.

Man, I love Kira.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Kira love <3 !

I had such a crush on her.

Although I shipped Kira/Kai Winn which Kira would not have liked. I think it was the only way to get over my intense hatred of Kai Winn, actually. The mind works in strange ways.

I had a crush on Kira too. She was actually the first female character I'd ever had a crush on. I never really shipped her with anyone, though I liked Kira/Odo in canon. I really liked Kira/Bareil while that was going on.

Also, while Kira wouldn't like being shipped with Winn, she'd probably like being shipped with Dukat even less, and that seems to be a fairly popular pairing in the fandom.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
I kind of shipped her with Julian.

That's an interesting idea, actually. Never considered it.

I could probably read her paired with anyone if the fic was good and got her characterization right, though. I just really love her character.

Kira/Dukat noooooo!

This is why I stay away from the DS9 fandom. Mostly.... I am tempted. But DS9 means too much to me. I wouldn't even mind re-watching DS9 all over, except that I see it through rose-tinted glasses and I wouldn't want that changed.

Kira/Odo was simply adorable, although I strangely shipped Odo/Bashir as well, and quite strongly. There's very little fic for the latter, so I guess I must have been on my own. I have no idea how I picked that up.

Kira/Bareil was my number one pairing ever on DS9, but it was so doomed and heartbreaking. I used to hope each week they'd have more of their story, and then being devastated when it happened.

Keiko/Miles was just lovely. Never enough Keiko.

DS9 had some good shipping.

Kira was awesome. (and I may have had a tiny crush on Nana Visitor for a bit)

I just ... I love that entire cast to pieces.

(Hm, I think I'll have to do a rewatch myself once i'm done with Voyager.)

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was inconsiderate as fuck that they came to Julian to patch up their sex injuries knowing how he felt about Jadzia.
philstar22: (Janeway)

[personal profile] philstar22 2014-11-19 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
He's the station's doctor. That is his job. Plus, he had a crush on her in the beginning, but my impression was that he was mostly over it at that point. Although, I will admit that while I liked Julian I found his crush on her kind of creepy at times and annoying at all times and never wanted them together even before Worf showed up.

[personal profile] quantumreality 2014-11-19 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I think he definitely had some growing-up to do. And at least he had the intellectual maturity to belatedly pick up on the "lack of interest" cues she was giving off, and turn his attention elsewhere.

The entire cast really was wonderful, and they all started clicking like a well-oiled machine pretty quickly in the first season :)

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Bashir/Jadzia was such a big no for me. His crush on her was just uncomfortable and made his character kind of annoying.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not like Bashir and Jadzia ever actually dated, they were good friends, and wasn't he pretty much over his feelings for Jadzia at that point?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
He wasn't, and Ezri made a point to tell him later that if Worf hadn't come along Jadzia would have been with Julian.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh I've always hated that Ezri said that.
philstar22: (Default)

[personal profile] philstar22 2014-11-19 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. It always felt out of the blue and random since we never saw Jadzia actually returning Julian's crush in any way, and Julian's crush at least had stopped being visible several seasons ago.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Same. Just so unnecessary and not fitting for Jadzia.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Me, too. So unnecessarily cruel, and obviously said just to play on his emotions. Jadzia never gave a f*ck about Julian (more fool she).

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
why the hell are you censoring fuck?

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think you're viewing Jadzia and Ezri unfairly here. I don't think it was cruel, or said to play with his emotions. If anything, I think that line was mostly just out of character (and the writers probably put it in to make Ezri seem 'deep', and connect her to Bashir somehow. Meh.)
Also Bashir having a thing for Jadzia didn't mean she was obliged to reciprocate. And she always made that clear to Julian from the start, and never toyed with his feelings.

[personal profile] ginainthekingsroad 2014-11-19 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
If it had been very early in the series, or even very early in the Jadzia/Worf relationship, I'd see where you were coming from a bit more. But he got over her, and the episode in question ("Looking for par'Mach in all the wrong places") takes place during the period of time that Bashir is dating Leeta (and has been for almost a year).

(Anonymous) 2014-11-19 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Eh. I think it'd less considerate to behave as if they'd rather forgo medical treatment because they didn't think he could put on his Big Boy pants and do his job when necessary.
