I so, so much prefer Uhura/Scotty! I want to see it become canon again.

I like Uhura/Scotty as well. Scotty's such a sweetheart to her. Although, I wouldn't say no to TOS Spock/TOS Uhura either (then again, I ship basically the entire TOS cast together because they're so precious).

Or TOS Chekov/TOS Uhura --I love the idea of flirty Chekov and experienced Uhura.

When it comes to TOS, I'm all about that multi-shipping too! I do like the idea of TOS Uhura/Spock and Uhura/Chekov (even though their friendship was just so adorable), but Uhura/Scotty will always have a special place in my heart, haha.

Yeah, I get it. Sybok's manipulation of Uhura was scummy, but I thought SCOTTY's behavior was perfect and I really loved just how much they genuinely seemed to care about each other and get along. There was a real gentleness to him with her -- you could tell that he felt that she was precious and beloved.

Scotty's lady was the enterprise.
I never thought he had a thing for Uhura or was more her friend than the other guys. He seemed like an older brother, he didn't seem to be interested about a romance at all.
It's adorable though that they were all nice and protettive with her (even though it made her a bit like Smurfette), especially Kirk.

Eh, I disagree.

Kirk loved the Enterprise as well (and she was often referred to as His lady too) and yet he still sought out romance and fell in love. I feel like this is kind of saying that it's impossible to truly be passionate about your job and have a deeply loving, healthy, committed relationship. Which I think both Scotty and Uhura are capable of doing.

Also, I always thought it was pretty clear that they were romantically interested in each other. Having dates planned and confessing their feelings tends to give one that impression.

Tbh, I ship Kirk/Spock old&new but I can admit Uhura and Spock make a cute couple too.
Ik the fandom says I should want uhura/scott but I can't picture them together like that and that thing from the movie with Sybok was v creepy. Nichelle Nichols deserved better.

Oh Spock and Uhura would DEFINITELY make a cute couple. Nimoy and Nichols had great chemistry. I think the reboot, too, could have been something really wonderful in the hands of better writers. Both Quinto and Saldana are talented and experienced actors after all. As it's written in the films though, the canon relationship, I really do not like it personally and find it unbelievable (as written).

I don't think anyone SHOULD do anything. It is personal preference. Like what you like. I also don't get why people say that liking Scotty and Uhura together is creepy when it is Sybok who acted inappropriately. Scotty was wonderful to her. If Sybok is that creepy guy at a bar who drugs you, then Scotty is the guy who loves you who makes sure you get home safely and that you are not taken advantage of. Even (and especially) when you confess you feelings for him while drugged.
