You lost all credibility when you climbed aboard the old grimdark hobby horse about killing the Joker. Just so you know, okay. It isn't nearly as real or edgy a claim as you think.

Different anon, but I imagine it's less a matter of being edgy and more a matter of "for fuck's sake, already!" The same plots can only be done with the guy for so long before suspension of disbelief is killed, and before it brings up the "Is Batman even getting anything done at all here?" question.

Of course Batman isn't getting anything done. he's as much a symptom of the broken system that exists in Gotham as the rest of them. He's just managed to channel his breakdown in a way that is marginally less socially harmful.

Why is that grim dark? I think it's more grimdark to keep the psychotic mass murdurer around eternally cycling through the useless revolving door of Arkham Asylum purely because he's... traditional. I don't want Batman to break his stupid no killing rule, I want the over beaten horse laid to rest.

You don't know why advocating murder is a bad thing? Can you give me your general location there nonny, I want to make sure I stay well away. If all you wanted was the cliche of the cardboard prison done away with then you'd be in favor of just having the Joker not used as a character. ... I think i missed something. Since when is it murder for a hostage to defend themselves against a known serial killer or for a police officer to shoot said killer in the middle of his murderous rampage?

And there's no way in fuck the comics will just do away with the Joker, but there's some hope they might kill him off. Maybe unclench your sphincters a bit regarding your horror at the 'murder' of a comic book character?
