It seems in direct opposition to the whole "personal choice" side of the feminist equation:

"I want to be a computer engineer!" = Great!

"I want to be a pilot" = OK.

"I want to be a flight attendant" = …well, at least it's a career.

"I want to be a stay-at-home mother" = INTERNALIZED MISOGYNY.

In other worlds, personal choice is great as long as you choose what they want you to. That's not choice.

Every group polices themselves and others. Women police other women. Teenage boys police teenage boys. (XYZ race) polices the other members of (XYZ race).

Yeah, some of those actions are pretty damn disgusting and should disappear, but the only reason society and culture can EXIST is because of policing as a general idea.

I wouldn't call that misogyny necessarily, I'd call that buying into social and cultural structures with misogynistic roots and/or results. Misogyny at a remove, or misogyny by implication, rather than internalized.

Maybe she just prefers playing as a dude. It's a perfectly valid preference. And yeah, OP can be sure that it's not internalized misogyny if she's interrogated her own motivations and concluded that that isn't a factor in her preference.
