Re: New Laptop?

I'd just be on a sofa rather than a chair (I don't have any decently comfortable chairs, either way). It might seem like a silly thing to insist on, but I'm on my feet literally all day at work, and when I get home I need to relax for a bit, not be getting up every ten minutes because my legs have gone numb or cramped up. Plus on the sofa there's room for my elderly cat to lie next to me, which might seem even sillier, but that's where my priorities are.

You could still modify a desktop to work for you on the couch. Simply have the monitor nearby, the tower on a side table or on the floor and the keyboard resting in your lap.

Or anon could just get a laptop. IDK why you're making them defend their preference continuously? It's not like laptops are incapable of doing the things listed above.

Because it's the option that makes the most sense. The whole point of a laptop is portability, but the anon doesn't actually need it to be portable, per se, anon just needs a configuration that allows them to sit comfortably while using a stationary computer. So for less money, you can get a more powerful system per their requirements and still have the seating arrangement that suits them.

If someone were asking for recs for a couch that was waterproof, light and could be transported easily via the trunk of their car so they could have a place to sit during soccer games but they didn't need it to be very heavily padded, it makes more sense to tell them to get a lawn chair.
