I don't think it's so much that as she's starting to realise, thanks to social media (both in interacting with fans and fellow PR alumni), that there is still a big fan following out there. That's something we didn't have in the show's heyday. There's also this rumor that's been going around for years that she somehow "hates" PR. It's never been true, and I think that rumor is unfair to her and to the fans.

Does she do conventions like the other cast members? No, but she has good reasons for that too, so this is her way of acknowledging/showing her appreciation for that part of her career and to her fans.

While it isn't true that she /hates/ PR, she was at one point /extremely/ embarrassed by it, as she stated in VH1's I Love the 90's.

If anybody hates it, you'd think it'd be David Yost. And he still is involved, so...

God when I learned about what happened to David Yost I was horrified

I give him so much props for still sticking with the series now because if it was me I would denounce everything about Power Rnagers

Just because you don't understand things doesn't make them not so.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-03 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
It can be and they can like it without you understanding.

But what you fail to take into account is that the little plastic thing on the end of a shoelace is called an aglet.

Hey that's pretty neat, thank you for the information.

Thuy, Austin, and Walter also have perfectly valid reasons to not want anything to do with the franchise anymore, considering how unceremoniously they were dumped as well

I'm a little surprised anyone connected with the first installment of the series wants to be associated with it, really.

But didn't you say one of them is dead?

[personal profile] thezmage 2014-12-03 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, and she is. I was referring to the incident where the three of them were dropped so hard that their characters only appeared morphed or in silhouette until their replacements were hired

(Anonymous) 2014-12-03 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Yes but how can she not want anything to do with the franchise? She can't want anything to do with anything, because she no longer is.

OP

She really didn't hate the series but was really embarrassed by it (also there's an implication that she has a bad experience with some of the overzealous fans back in the 90s)

But I feel that originally she started paying attention to the fanbase because it was a good investment for her, however she now genuinely wants to get involved because the positive experience she had with the LexiCon she went to. That's why I said I didn't care if she had some selfish intentions in the beginning since it shown her that her paranoia of the franchise can be put to rest (for now anyway).
