Your first sentence is basically me.

For me, gaming is my time to de-stress and isn't a social thing, so competing against or even involving other people kind of defeats the whole purpose.

yeah, this. plus, I like watching a story unwind. I almost exclusively play games that are interactive stories (preferably with a good reward system for the dopamine.), and when I'm done I usually don't even bother with the challenges that often come with them. My first favorite game was Kins Quest VII. There's just no way to play games like that competetively. It's the opposite of what they are in essence.
