Fanartists don't make a ton of money off of stuff they sell any way, even if it is copyrighted, but I don't like the mass produced fanart which people sell for stupidly high prices. Especially if it's something small that I could have made myself in 30 minutes.
But yes, I was speaking from the perspective of someone from tumblr, because of the ease of microblogging. This doesn't happen for me on DA, since galleries ask me for permission first and I can always request that my stuff not be posted if I don't like what they are doing. (i.e. making a youtube video including my art so that they can profit from the ads and views)

It's different from fulfilling a request for someone who likes the way you draw. Do you see what I am getting at?
