Kind of OT, but...

I do love how of all the characters fandom made gay (whether with canon in mind or not), Dumbledore is the one canon character no one ever wrote as gay when he was.

Although I read on TV Tropes that Seamus and Dean were supposed to be, but that's the only source I've seen for it so I dunno.

The Seamus and Dean thing is made-up. Rowling never said anything about it.

AYRT - Yeah, I didn't think so. I'm not even sure they get Heterosexual Life Partners status, though Ron and Harry certainly do. They're just two best friends, the way kids sometimes become best friends.

I was reading slash in HP around the time of OotP release. Gay Dumbledore is there, but either is buried in the depths of FF.net or hidden on LJ account that may or may not still exist.

The examples I remember usually played him up as a Dirty Old Man too.

*g* Yeah, Snapledore! I read that, too, back then. I also remember reading Dumbledore/Harry, and it wasn't even all that bad.

You're actually surprised that there was more slash about younger characters like Sirius, Remus, and Snape than about the 100+ year old character with a long white grandpa beard?!
