But do they have Synergy?

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Fuck yes. I'm not a fan of Vocaloids in particular, but hologram pop-stars were the future that Jem promised me and I am PSYCHED that the FUTURE IS NOW.

Another person not that into Vocaloids, but holy crap that is so cool.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I used to love Gorillaz for this same reason. Cartoon pop stars! For grown-ups! Hologram concerts! Awesome!

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
I want to fuck that hologram.

Honestly, I find vocaloids cool for sounding something apart from human...

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed.

They sound like robots. Robot pop stars. You can't tell me that isn't awesome!

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. In my opinion, Vocaloid is at it's best when it totally embraces it's unrealness. I love hearing one sound close to human, but I don't think that's where their true strength lies.

FUCK YEAH!

I would pay to go to one of those, if only to revel in the awkward of it. Like masochistic first-second-hand embarrassment because I'd be ashamed of myself and on behalf of everyone else there. And then tell people about it.

i get so annoyed by people ignoring the live band that plays with the cryptonloids in concert. all the songs are typically re arranged from their originals as well. not to mention every song is fanmade! i know theyre starting to include western producers in concert tracklists

shame sega/crypton wont bring them to canada though lol
daddytexas: (let's rock)

[personal profile] daddytexas 2014-12-26 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
The future is now! Or the past, actually, since The Gorillaz were doing this about 10 years ago.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and Kraftwerk was doing singing robots and computerized pop stars 40 years ago. Your point?
daddytexas: (TTLY GONNA BENCH A TRUCK)

Did someone forget to tell you merry christmas today or something? Gosh, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Anyway, I was specifically talking about the big 3D holograms on stage. Did they have that technology 40 years ago? Honestly curious here, not trying to sound like a jerk.

Someone sounds needlessly grumpy.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
Also Dethklok concerts were awesome.

Now, if they could only get them to sing in proper English...

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
...instead of Engrish ( three kilometer thick accents except for Ia and Megurine Luka ), I would be so over that like white on rice.

Given your comment, your metaphor is unfortunate.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
imo Vocaloid music is far more "real" than a lot of other music.

Practically all Vocaloid music is made from independent musicians and initially all producers become popular due to word of mouth with zero advertisement and no record labels backing them. New, completely unknown producers have beaten out BNF producers with fancy PVs for the top spot on the nicovideo song rankings.

There's far more "indie music" cred that should be associated with Vocaloid music as opposed to the musicians that hipsters usually love like Lana Del Ray or banjo crooner dude #439.

I think a bomb at this concert would be the perfect opportunity to put a huge dent in the misogynerd neckbeard population.

Sure, it sounds like a cool idea, virtual singers, but you just know the audience is 90% creepy smelly adult males who write and draw porn of the childlike singers.

Not that there isn't those types of creepy ass fans, but even on the Japanese side the fandom is a mostly equal split male/female. Most of the fans tend to be teenagers.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-26 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
tbh, you're pretty creepy yourself, fantasizing about killing people and all

http://www.vocaloidism.com/tokyo-polytechnic-university-publishes-results-of-vocaloid-study/
"When broken down by age group and gender, 40% of females aged 12 through 19 liked listening to VOCALOID music, along with 28% of females in their early twenties and 20% of females in their late twenties"

Having some issues digging it up right now but a survey conducted at comiket showed that Vocaloid was the only fandom with an even 50/50 gender split.
The Kagerou Project fandom, which is derived from Vocaloid music, is mostly female.

But hey bomb the place anyway because people deserve to die based on assumptions made about their hobbies.

DON'T YOU MEAN....

...STRAIGHT OUT OF ARTHUR? (Cuz, I assumed every kid watched/watches Arthur)

IT'S BINKY. IT'S THE ONE THING EVERYONE'S TALKING ABOUT. DON'T PUTTING YOU EFFING TRASH IN THEIR HOLOGRAM THING
