Yeah--self-awareness is helpful, and now OP can work on catching and correcting those thoughts. There's probably some insecurity and some investing a lot of self-worth in writing at work here. (And OP--I know a couple of writers of original fiction who never got past this stage, and they're miserable, defensive twats whose writing plateaued years ago and who blame everything except their own inability to learn for not having success as a writer. Please, for your own sake, get past this stage.)
