There are a lot of games I play on easy, either because I enjoy them more that way or want to get through the game ASAP to see what happens. When I do play a game on normal or harder, it's usually because I want more of a challenge (which is rare) or I want to unlock an achievement. I played through BioShock: Infinite on normal for an achievement, and though it didn't get difficult until the end, it took me forever to finish the final section of the game. I wanted to throw my controller at my tv screen. That is not what I call a good time, and not worth going through often. (I also went through Bayonetta on normal, and don't understand how anyone could possibly get through anything harder than that. Good god. I just don't have the patience.)

Do what makes you happy. There's no right or wrong way to enjoy your games.

As somebody who's trying my first FPS play through on BSI, it's hard enough figuring out where the hell I'm supposed to go/ orienting to the world without a map that easy game play is my only hope for getting through!

Does Infinite not have a map? I thought it did... (Been a while since I played the game.) Granted, even if it does I doubt it's a very thorough one! It's easy to get lost in these games. (I did a looooooot of backtracking in the earlier BioShock games. Sometimes just to pick up ammo, cash or health that I'd left behind, but you can waste a lot of time doing that. I know I did.)

The story is what attracts me to these games anyway, so I don't mind playing on easy! You can always go through it again later on normal if you feel like it.

From what google tells me, no. So I end up following some of the online guides -- I wish it was more intuitive so I didn't have to and the whole thing is sorely testing my sense of direction -- I figure I'm learning though :)

Hmmmmmmm, isn't there something to point you to your new objective? (Like a trail on the ground or an arrow? I think the first BioShock had an arrow... You can see how stellar my memory is, having to ask these questions.)

I find that running around confused and scared will eventually put you where you need to be. It might take a while, but at some point you will look up and say, "Oh, I'm here" and everything will slide into place!

It does basically nudge you on to the next objective but it's not always clear what you're supposed to be looking for or how to recognize it. I figure observation is one of the skills you develop through playing more, though!

My husband tried to play Infinite on Hard, and he couldn't get past the first encounter with Elizabeth's mother. I was watching him, and I was just like, "...oh honey, I am so sorry" because it just looked awful.

Needless to say, he gave up on that plan (and turned me off of trying it, lol).

Awww, haha. I don't know about the rest of the game (though I imagine that would be hell too, given how many enemies you need to take down on a regular basis), but imagining that final stand on anything harder than normal makes me want to cringe. It was just fucking terrible. I'm sure there are at least a few other challenging parts that would make one want to tear their hair out, and I ain't trying it. I'll enjoy myself on easy next time I play.

I watched my boyfriend play through Bayonetta on Hard and my only comment was 'how the hell can you tell what's going on?' because there were THINGS, EVERYWHERE. And he enjoys that sort of shit but man, it's not for me(I get frustrated with Normal often enough as it is...).

Your boyfriend must be fucking incredible then, haha. Seriously, I had to train to get through that game on normal. (Like, literally do the missions over and over again so I could buy myself more lollipops to use on bosses, get the feel of the gameplay, learn how to defeat different enemies, etc. I spent a lot of time replaying the same bosses because they were just too much for me. How anyone makes it on the hardest difficulty dumbfounds me.)

More like incredibly fucking stubborn. :P (He's the kind of person that relishes hard-modes, not on every game, but with most he will complete every difficulty setting).

Man I only played a little bit of the game and I was done pretty quick because I just couldn't get the hang of it, like it's almost like button bashing but not quite? And that was Easy as well I think, me and that game, did not click.
