....I was under the impression this secret was about things in fanfiction that people didn't like.

Little things like ships and AUs that you can easily ignore if you don't like.

I seem to be the only one taking this to be about that and not about rape fantasy fiction or something....

Your context was "online fiction", but the AYRT's comparison is valid because it's not "online fiction" that gets people mad, it's "I don't like/agree with this thing" which is basically why we can't ever have world peace, and why people with always find something to be angry about.

Where did I ever bring up rape fantasy fiction?

I apologize then. But to be honest the whole "how can you expect people to not get in uproar about things they DON'T AGREE WITH" thing, well it seems more immature a reaction when we're talking about common fanfic tropes.

Except, you know, I do it every day I read fanfiction. I see a fic I don't like, move on. I see an AU I don't find interesting, move along. It's just what adults do. Someone on the internet shipping your NOtp , or writing a fic you have a bone to pick with really doesn't seem that big a deal in the scheme of things.

So yeah, I still don't see why asking people to act like the adults they are is like expecting world peace. Sorry.
