Maybe I'm saying this because I'm what some people would describe as mono-fannish, but I agree. The graphic-centered design of Tumblr makes the site a bad discussion platform, but LJ always left something to be desired, too. If it means anything, I never discuss my one fandom on Tumblr, and yet AO3 contains the sort of fics I've always wanted to see about said fandom.

Also, friends-locked posts are exasperating, and LJ never should have instituted rules that would make anyone want to friends-lock their posts.
