(Anonymous) 2015-01-15 12:26 am (UTC)(link)I think this is quite a normal experience. It's called being interesting in and following something. There's no particular reason to construe it in terms of fandom, that's all. Fandom is not the only lens through which to understand interests. I follow politics quite closely but it's not a fandom as such. And there are tons of things like that.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-15 12:45 am (UTC)(link)I don't have any strong opinions on which side is right and which side is wrong. I don't even mean "I just can't decide," I don't even care.
I just watch them for the amusement of seeing people who I can sometimes recognize (but don't personally know) fighting their miniature war against an attractive but foreign backdrop, and to laugh at the often-funny vitriol they spew at each other on Facebook, and sometimes in person, as you can see on their YouTube videos.
