YAWN.

She/he was there for Usagi when Mamoru wasn't. And even though they were serious in wanting to date her, most of the time, Seiya was goofing around and didn't expect Usagi to just jump up and date them. And hell, in the manga, she was trying her damnedest to make Usagi see what was in front of her, as she needed to face the truth and move on to fight against Galaxia.

Seiya could be a jerk, but they were awesome. And far more interesting than Mamoru. Well, anime!Mamoru anyway.

When Mamoru was dead, you mean?

That wasn't Mamoru's fault... but in the anime, Seiya didn't know that, so you can't fault Seiya for thinking that Mamoru was just a jerk who went to America and dumped his girlfriend without even bothering to tell her. Characters can only operate on information available to them and I hate how fandom often acts like they should be able to read minds or know all the stuff the audience is privy to. Of course they don't.

This. I may not like Mamoru, but it was hardly his fault.

Yes, but she didn't know that. She assumed he either didn't care or was too busy for her. In the manga, she had blocked out his death.
