I'm actually a fan who can't stand fandom's fetishization of black people to the point that they're outraged whenever a new white character is introduced but...

...I don't see it. Abbie is a pretty interesting and likable character with good chemistry with Ichabod.

Yes. I find her less cliche' than OP does.

Abbie is a fantastic character in her own right. From the pilot she is drawn as a 3D person. But why??! Other than to get Icabod to use the British pronunciation, is she a lieutenant? She's in uniform and rides a patrol car, not a desk. From the way things seem to run she should be a sergeant.

I don't understand the Sleepy Hollow Sheriff's Dept.
