Yeah, Twitter's formatting contributed as well. I just tend to block it out since Twitter has lost its luster for me lately. The way I see it, both platforms changed how people discuss all subjects online. I admit it can be fun to watch people spazz out over crime solving ponies on Last Week Tonight's social media channels (yes, I'm that anon), but that's the most I ever use social media for fan-like activity. Otherwise, I never really used them for fandom purposes.
