Re: Fandoms you can't ship in

Criminal Minds is an interesting case for me. Because I have a couple things I mentally ship (Hotch/Prentiss, Rossi/Prentiss, Morgan/Garcia), but I don't want to see them in canon and I don't want to read about them. I just like the idea of them, but when it comes to what I watch or read, I just want the crime solving and team dynamic.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which is wierd. I'm not sure why I don't ship. I used to kind of ship the canon ships, and I still don't mind them in canon. But I no longer actively ship anything and am mostly in it for the awesomeness, the bending, and the friendships.

Stargate: SG1: Similar to above, I used to be a shipper. Even more actively so than ATLA. I was totally and completely into Sam/Jack and liked both canon Daniel ships as well. But I've been rewatching, and I find I don't care about the romances the way I used to. Now I'm just in it for the team. I don't want any romance to get in the way of that.

I still like Jack/Sam but one of the things about Sg-1 I like is that they don't give you a definite "YEP! They got married and are together forever now!" with their ships. They give you teases and alternate timelines and timelines where they aren't together but in the end the show really is about the team.

I think it's kind of a fun way to do things, because shippers get their moments and the non-shippers don't have to deal with the romance in their face all the time.

I'm the same with SG1. I don't ship any of them and I just like the team dynamic.

I can kind of get that re: Criminal Minds. My ships tend to revolve around the trio of Hotch, JJ, and Prentiss because they're my favorites, and I ship all permutations of it to some extent. But the most I want to do is read a bit of grotesquely saccharine fluff once in a while.
