I'm not a real Disney nerd, but I like the movies as much as anyone. But I've never really heard that Maleficent was considered the 'best' villain. One of the best, lots of people like her, sure. But, *the* definitive best? I'm pretty sure that depends on the sites you visit and how they rank this stuff.

Because you're totally right, plenty of those other villains are at least as interesting.

I think Doug Walker ranked her at #2. (It's been a while, so I don't really remember that well.) His #1 was Chernabog, because "he's the devil!" (I think Frollo, at least, was a better villain than both, but that's just me.)

Frollo is the superior villain. He got a whole song devoted to lust and cursing in a kids' movie. That's something to be proud of.

Yup, that wins.

Hunchback wins at everything. Whenever I find something I don't like in a disney movie and point it out to someone (like how they completely glossed over segregation in Princess and the Frog), they always go "but it's disney!" and I go "But Hunchback didn't do that stuff..."
Everyones growing tired of my Hunchback-but (t haha), now.
