YES YES YES
I
STILL
LOVE
THIS
SHOW
I bought a goddamn VCR for this show. An old Betamax I got from a neighbour or something for $50 because it and Seaquest DSV and something else were on at the same time and I was not missing stuff and besides, I had been watching JMS on Usenet going on about how things would mean more later and THEY ACTUALLY DID and and and.
It was SO GOOD, even when it was not good it was good.

ps NOT A SECRET
LOVED Sinclair.
Even if okay maybe he's a bit of a tree. BUT SO WHAT HE WAS AWESOME.
I have the Japanese laserdisc (the only way to get the original pilot unedited) because FUCK YEAH SINCLAIR :D
(don't get me wrong the re-edit is better overall but they did one thing I don't like and it's a really good moment and I still have it because Japanese laserdisc. Also I kind of liked some of the cheesy rock music. :D )
I love this shoooooooooooooooooooooow

(Anonymous) 2015-01-22 07:25 am (UTC)(link)OP is so happy
(Anonymous) 2015-01-23 01:07 am (UTC)(link)I just couldn't get into the fandom because I remember seeing someone bitching about Dr. Franklin and Ivanova and I just went, "But...but they're cool. They're all cool. Why the hate?"
I only saw seasons 3 and 4, and now I'm two episodes away from the complete series after watching it from start to finish. I so badly wish that there was another show like this with little bits updated and some better effects.
Not gonna lie that I kinda thought of Byron as just a slightly more annoying Evil Replacement Marcus, but I got what they were going for with his character and the larger story at hand. I really have to say the worst thing someone can say against it is that you do start to see how it was constrained by the time of its creation. There's only so much you could get away with on TV.
Anyone heard anything about the reboot?
Re: OP is so happy
But I worry that the reboot may be the thing that breaks this fandom love fest. I see most people being optimistic about it though, because as a group I think we love JMS's world too much to doubt him too hard; even if personally I have my doubts whether B5 can work as a movie (but I know myself well enough to know that come hell or high water or attack by the First Ones, I'll be there opening day if it happens).
