He's the guy who did a piece on the news coverage of school shootings, isn't he? I've always liked that piece.

Another person in this thread mentioned John Oliver, and I think there's a definite difference between Brooker/Oliver and Stewart/Colbert. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report cover news, but they're entertainment first, information second. Brooker and Oliver favour an approach that puts the main focus on the information being delivered, but peppers it with enough jokes to keep things fun and interesting.

Also Daily/Colbert are (or were, in Colbert's case) on 4 consecutive days a week, which calls for more promptly topical bits and less time to react to events / writes jokes, etc.
