Re: Best products/routine for oily skin?
(Anonymous) 2015-01-22 04:03 am (UTC)(link)i've always side-eyed it as yet another unnecessary thing, like how people advertise eye moisturizers when you can just use face moisturizers.
i did try using primer once - it came with a mineral makeup kit, i think it was nude minerals - and it gave me the worst acne ever so i just stopped using it.
Re: Best products/routine for oily skin?
(Anonymous) 2015-01-22 04:11 am (UTC)(link)The primer may not have been formulated for oily skin, hence the acne. I swapped out the primer in my sample kit for a different one made for oily skin, and it has helped. I've noticed that primer helps my makeup stay on longer and smudge less. Also, if I by accident I scratch my nose, the primer keeps the makeup in place. It's been my experience that primer is good to have, especially if I don't feel like carrying stuff around for touch ups. That said, I don't know if it's necessary in most cases. It's a definite if you are going to wear makeup while in really hot/humid conditions for extended amounts of time (like I was when I got married).
