Hahaha... SMC tried to be an almost faithful adaptation. ALMOST. Animation aside, it just fails in too many ways.

There's a lot of things I personally disliked from it (the generals being alive aside), but then again I also preffered the 90's version over the manga because it fleshed out the girls and their friendship better, which I think made the series freaking iconic.

+1 I like the manga but one of SMC's mistakes was following Naoko's pacing (and worse, trying to add stuff within that pacing) because she rarely fleshed out her characters enough.

The 90's anime did a great job of taking the basic idea but giving us more character moments. I think it will always be my favorite version of Sailor Moon.

This, pretty much. The art is lovely but the story and pacing are not. I loved Sailor Moon as a child, but thing is the manga definitely lacked on a lot of stuff.
