Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
And your regular dentist won't be able to put you under if you have to go to her/him? Gah! Definitely rooting for you to be able to go to the oral surgeon.
Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
Yeah, he can't, he can only numb it. They did say that, if we have to do it like that, I could bring my iPod with me, and listen to it during the whole thing, but with things going on inside my jaw, I don't know how good of a distraction that would be. |D
Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
In any case, good luck, man. And hopefully it'll go nice and easy so that you can still enjoy some of your break (I got mine out before they'd completely come through, and I was able to go back to school after only a day. My cheeks were a little swollen, but there wasn't really any pain).
Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
Thanks. :) Mostly I'm worried because my roommate keeps telling me horror stories about when her wisdom teeth were pulled, so hearing some less-scary stories is really helpful. ^^;

Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
Follow the post-op instructions. I can't stress that enough. I had a wisdom tooth out a couple of years ago and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, and after 30 years of horror stories I was expecting every complication known to man. My daughter had all of hers out, plus a bone graft, and she ate soft solids for about a week and had a lovely velcro ice-holder thingie which worked a treat. Even after all that, she said it wasn't all that painful, but she sure wanted something crunchy to eat.
Last word of advice: NO STRAWS! Seriously. It screws things up big time.
Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
I will; I really don't want to get dry socket. D: And no straws, got it, thanks! <3
Re: Wisdom teeth =_=
I only got the two. They started to erupt and the gym around then got infected and I couldn't afford a dentist so I cut the gum flap and that fixed up. Some 4 years later I go to the dentist cause a tooth hurts and we discover that the back ones are cavity filled cause I have a small mouth and the brush can't reach. Decide to get rid of them. It was like $80 a tooth cause they were already all way out?
He jabbed me with a local, basically gave a twist and pull for each. Gave me a padding to hold in my mouth until it clotted and I went home.
Was at work the next day - that was stupid. I should have taken a day or two off. Fine after that. Pretty quick and painless although night one I drooled ridiculously in my sleep.
