Oh b fucking hoo, go bitch on fandoms that actually DO have problematic shit, but you're too scared to do it to a male-dominated space instead of your echo chamber.

Tom gets to pursue his lifelong dream of sailing, fish dude gets to do whatever fish dude likes to do (I forget what he did ). It's perf.

I'm catching up on S4 and crave some Finch/Reese. It can be from any season. I'd love if it was first time, but that's not necessary. I'm really craving a happy-ending fic (or something uplifting -- it can be angsty but I'd just so love the boys to have a little bit of happiness right now).

Basically, what are your favorite Finch/Reese fics?

Which versions though?

If it's their younger selves then Magneto, but if it's the older then Professor X.

the death of expression is a greater threat then ISIS will ever be.

AYRT

I would read it. I would read anything, to be honest. I didn't expect that Wesley/Ethan in particular would be such a stretch, given the fandom, but apparently it is. *grumbles*

That happens a lot, actually...

(Anonymous) 2015-01-24 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I’m an author. And I’ve had two life-goals ever since I was published: have someone else write fic and have a tv tropes page.

If I were your friends, I’d be thrilled.

Mine always ends up being too long way too soon. It's really thick and grows really fast. I still don't know how I can generate huge piles of trimmed hair at the end of a full haircut when before it, my hair still just barely grazed my collar.

Thank you! I wish I could invite F!S, I feel like a lot of you would get on with my friends. Actually one of my friends DID used to be an F!Ser back in lj days.

It's funny because the kind of setting you describe would be absolutely wonderful to me (I mean, it can't literally always be nighttime and raining, right? It just seems that way in popular media...)

I'd recommend William Gibson's Bridge Trilogy -- Virtual Light, Idoru and All Tomorrow's Parties. They're largely set in sunny California (mostly San Fran) and while things are a little weird and shook up, the setting is overall not that different from the world as we know it.

Old Soviet era science fiction was very much about these sorts of concepts. Idealized visions of the communist future and whatnot.

Of particular interest to you might be the Noon Universe created by Boris and Arkady Strugatsky. It shouldn't be too difficult to find translated works.

Yea, and Fitz/Ward didn't even have that many scenes together so I understand why that ship didn't sail earlier, and then...shit happened, so it wasn't likely to ever happen. (Which, again, is fine by me since I can't ship it now.)

We've discussed my odd feelings about Fitz/Simmons so I won't go over that again, but I think Fitz/Tripp/Simmons could've worked better than most OT3's. I can certainly see the appeal of both Fitz/Tripp and Tripp/Simmons. (And kind of wished at one point that Tripp/Simmons would actually happen, but then...shit.)

Now I'm all over Fitz/Mack and nothing can stop me.

Bullcrap. Japanese society greatly infantilizes women.

That's nice.

Sorry. It's just funny because San Francisco is kind of notoriously not actually that warm or sunny.

Ooooh yeah. There's a bit of that whole "omg my life is about to drastically change and what if I'm a bad mother oh noooooes" jitters thing going on, but it's something I've wanted for a while, so it's definitely something I'm happy and excited about!

(Anonymous) 2015-01-24 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
that seems legit to me. And it's reality too.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-24 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Back when I used to play Visual Novels, the official English version would always disclaimer EVERYONE IN SEXUAL ENCOUNTERS IS OVER 18

Even when the girls and boys having ero scenes were... obviously not.

Well, yes, I did say it was still a dystopia. It's just not a dirty one.

Re: Exercise Advice

(Anonymous) 2015-01-24 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, she doesn't do doctors. I cannot tell you how many years she dealt with a skin issue before biting the bullet to see a doctor. I'm not going to be able to talk her into that any time soon.

It's not hurting to the point where she can't walk -- it's just enough where she thinks exercising it probably is a bad idea.

She thinks it's from the shoes she was wearing. She's stopped wearing them but the issue hasn't gone away yet. I'd say wait but she gets really cranky when she's not exercising regularly (the aerobic kind).
