He's not Jewish, he was raised as a Scientologist. I doubt he still is a Scientologist, but you never know with famous people.

Judaism is a religion, not an ethnicity.

He's never been Jewish, his mother may have been but she converted to Scientology and raised him as a Scientologist. I'm sure that means he can easily convert to Judaism should he chose to but I was under the impression he was an atheist.

I doubt the Neo-Nazis would care. He comes from a Jewish bloodline therefore he is seen as Jewish in their eyes.

Judaism is both a religion and an ethnic group (also there is loads of anti-Semitism also against non-practicing Jews)
If his mother was Jewish then he is Jewish by blood and wouldn't need to convert at all. There's no provision in Jewish law to stop being Jewish.

It's both. If it were just a religion, you wouldn't be considered Jewish if your mother was Jewish... which is one of the ways people define Jewishness.

I recall an interview literally eons ago where Gaiman said he got a lot of or some Jewish religious culture from one set of grandparents? I may be misremembering that...

He's mentioned in interviews that he had a Bar Mitzvah, and that a relative who was a cantor tutored him for it. This relative also told him a number of old rabbinic legends, some of which Gaiman later incorporated into his fiction. As for his present-day stance on religion, he's stated that he himself isn't a Scientologist and that he's unconcerned with whether there's a God.

People have already pointed out how wrong you are about Jewish, but I didn't know Gaiman was raised Scientologist. How did he get out? Scientologists HATE to let people go, I know...

His dad was a big figure in UK scientology. Idk anything else about it though.
