I've got 10, 8, and 6 gauge holes in my ear lobes (smaller the number, bigger the hole), I've worn stainless steel cbrs in them for almost 4 years and have "noticeable only if you're sucking on my earlobes" stretching on my 6 g. My rings are quite heavy.

"Normal" earrings/piercings are 18g. I'm thinking they'd've pierced your ears at 16 or 14--and as the other poster said, unless your rings are super heavy, shouldn't be an issue. If you're really concerned/curious, call your piercer and ask.

Popping in to add that I know a lot of piercing places that won't do any piercings at anything narrower than a 16, since there's much less chance of you accidentally getting your posts caught on something and managing to rip it out (the cheese wire effect, essentially). It makes pretty much zero difference in the long run, so OP should definitely stop worrying and enjoy their new piercings!
