Popping in to add that I know a lot of piercing places that won't do any piercings at anything narrower than a 16, since there's much less chance of you accidentally getting your posts caught on something and managing to rip it out (the cheese wire effect, essentially). It makes pretty much zero difference in the long run, so OP should definitely stop worrying and enjoy their new piercings!
